About the Maltipoo

A Maltipoo (also known as a maltie-poo, maltie-poo, moodle, maltapoo, and malti-doodle), is a designer dog bred from Poodle and Maltese parents. The maltipoo is one of many increasingly common poodle hybrids, largely the result of recent interest in designer dogs.

While Maltese dogs tend to have a generally uniform conformation, poodles can vary widely in size and color. Consequently, Maltipoos demonstrate this variation. A particular advantage of Maltipoos is a consistently small amount or lack of shedding, due to both parents being low shedders.

The Maltie-Poo is spirited, lively and playful. Highly responsive, they are said to be one of the most trainable small breeds available. They are highly intelligent, demanding and delightful, very amusing and clever, bold and quick to sound the alarm in case of suspicious noises. They make very good watchdog for its size and do well with other animals. Maltipoos are gentle, extremely intelligent, eager to please, easily trainable, and very loyal to their human families. The Maltipoo is a natural family dog as they tend to love everyone they meet. Maltipoos are also great with kids, and are an excellent choice for a retired person.
